The wine Brunello di Montalcino Cerretalto was first bottled as its own wine in 1988 and comes from the approx. 4 ha field Cerretalto, which lies low in the eastern part of Montalcino. It lies along a narrow river in a naturally shaped amphitheatre. The white truffles also grow here. The soil is very rich in minerals, especially iron. It is more difficult to get the grapes to ripen there, and therefore the wine
