One of the few rums in the world that can highlight "terroir", including unique weather and growing conditions for sugar cane, as a major reason for the unique quality. Located in the Nassau Valley, Appleton Estate traces its origins back to 1655, when Sir Francis Dickenson founded the farm. The first production of rum can be documented back to 1749, and is thus the oldest distillery in Jamaica with
