Der von ihm hergestellte Whiskey wurde als Bourbon bekannt, benannt nach demBourbon County in Kentucky. Der Urenkel des Grnders, Colonel James B. Beam baute nach der Prohibition das Unternehmen im Jahr 1933 nahe seiner Heimatstadt in Clermont wieder auf. Weitere Firmenchefs waren T. Jeremiah Beam und sein Sohn James B. Beam Booker
