This so called "sugar cane liquor" is the national drink in Brazil. There, sugar cane liquor is consumed neat, as a caipirinha, or mixed with fruit juices. The most common use for PIT in Europe is the PITrinha the premium caipirinha with PIT. PIT is made from pure sugar cane and is therefore not comparable to white rum, which is produced from the residues of sugar cane production, such as molasses.
