A highly complex and broad ranging nose features aromas of freshly turned earth, black currant, plum and a hint of the sauvage. There is a velvety palate impression to the muscular and impressively rich flavors that possess seemingly endless reserves of dry extract that do a fine job of buffering the exceptionally firm tannic spine on the succulent yet entirely serious finale. Stylistically this is not exactly old school but its
