This is aromatically quite similar to the straight Puligny though with more floral elements plus a subtle application of oak

white flower and a bit of anise that can also be found on the intensely stony and big-bodied flavors that are almost aggressively mineral in character before culminating in a palate staining and driving finish where the intensity does a slow but sure build from the dense mid-palate to the explosive finale

Smoky reduction and wood serve as a pungent introduction to the rich and relatively full-bodied flavors that are succulent but less vibrant on the lingering if mildly chewy if not actually tough finish
