This is the first wine to show any wood influence and its not subtle with its menthol and toast nuances on the spicy, sauvage and purple fruit scents. Like the old vines Morey this too possesses excellent mid palate concentration and a definite muscularity to the rich and velvet textured flavors that deliver solid length on the bitter cherry inflected finish that isnt quite as complex.
