Description
This youthfully austere effort is classic Rugiens and as such will need at least a decade of patience and probably more like 12 to 15 years of it
It's firm and ends with tobacco and spice notes
Firm reduction renders the nose unreadable at present
but there is something about the wine's raciness and immediacy that makes it a pure pleasure to taste today
Somewhat surprisingly given how clean the prior wines are
Saxum, Paderewski Vintage:2014 This youthfully austere effort isA 30% Mourvdre, 22% Zinfandel, 13% Syrah, 10% Petite Sirah, 13% Tempranillo and 12% Grenache blend, the 2014 Paderewski Vineyard has a deep garnet purple color and nose of warm mulberries, blueberry compote and preserved plums with touches of Chinese five spice, licorice, black pepper and underbrush. The full bodied palate has a solid frame of chewy tannins and just enough freshness supporting the earthy, tightly knit flavors, finishing on a peppery
