Description
Inky blue/purplish fruit
In some ways it feels like a hypothetical 2016–2017 blend
stewed plums and boysenberries
intense and quite sleek large-scaled flavors that deliver first-rate persistence on the backward and youthfully austere finish
This is only produced once every four or five years
Philippe Charlopin-Parizot, Mazis Chambertin Brut Zero Inky blue/purplish fruit(from Mazis Hauts). This arguably possesses the most complex nose in the range with its intensely floral aromas of various dark berries, earth, sauvage and an interesting hint of tangerine peel. The broad shouldered, powerful and concentrated flavors are saline to the point of being almost salty before culminating in a wonderfully long, balanced and compact finale. This is a wine to buy and forget you own for at least a decade. In a word, excellent.
