Four Pugin Portcullis Chairs Textiles H:161 W:158 D:5 CMAn iteration of the iconic Portcullis chair designed by Augustus Pugin as a general use chair for the Palace of Westminster. Gillows and Holland & Sons produced these chairs, although these are unmarked. Oak with patinated blue green leather, this more detailed chair was used in the House of Lords predominately, always using red leather, all with inset brass castor to the front legs. Highly original examples. Circa 1880. Price is for the four. H: 89
