Woodenhead Mariah Vineyard Zinfandel, 2017 Adelaide Hills Fermented and aged 4 months"Mountain fruit sourced at 2400 elevation at a windy site on Mendocino Ridge, hence Mariah Vineyard. Dark, dark ruby, almost black in color! Big, full bodied, goes down like silk, with a substantial mouthfeel, kind of like briar, chewy, woody, with a heavy black fruit component. Earth dominates, but blackberry, mulberry, and plum combine to make it complete. Cigar box and dark fruit aromas make it intriguing and mysterious. A serious Zinfandel for the
