the 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is magnificent

Lush and round on the palate

Smoky nuances suffuse the ripe and vaguely exotic aromas of white peach

but especially over the last decade or so

Pierre Damoy, Chambolle Musigny Vintage:2020 the 2016 Chianti Classico Gran(from Les Drazey). Ripe and layered aromas include those of red and black cherry, spice and discreet wood nuance. There is outstanding concentration to the relatively powerful and almost painfully intense big bodied flavors that flex evident muscularity on the impressively long and very firm finale. Once again, this isnt typical, and particularly so compared to a classic Chambolle, but it is a potentially very interesting wine.
